Family BBQ: All youth, parents and families are invited (and encouraged) to attend the Year End BBQ on Saturday 12th May 1pm - 4pm at Silverlands (High River) for lunch, games and the ceremonies when Beavers become Cubs, Cubs become Scouts, and Scouts become Vents. This includes families of those attending the camp, and those not able to attend for the full weekend - feel free to just come out for the afternoon. There will also be an opportunity to pre-register for the Beavers / Cubs / Scouts / Vents starting in September 2012. The location map for Silverlands is here.
Spring Registration: Tuesday 15th May 6.30pm - 8pm at The Elks Hall. The last chance to register for Beavers / Cubs / Scouts / Vents until September. Register early to secure a space (Beavers and Cubs are likely to reach capacity) and to get the reduced Early Registration Fee!

Birth of A Nation Parade - 9th April

The Annual Okotoks Birth of A Nation Parade takes place on Monday 9th April to honour the battle of Vimy Ridge on 9th April 1917, and all Beavers and their familes are invited to attend. Meet outside the Elks Hall at 5.45pm (in uniform) for a short parade to the Cenotaph, and then return to the Elks around 6.30pm. Please attend if you can.

Kub Kar Rally - Update
All White Tails were invited to build a Kub Kar. For those that did, the details of the Rally are below. All Beavers and their families are invited to attend the event.
The Rally takes place Saturday 31st March at The Elks Hall

Things to Note:
- We will need parent volunteers to help with judging, activities, take down etc. Please contact Rusty / Akela / Bagheera / Scouter G on arrival if you are able to help.
- Spectators are welcome. Family / siblings etc are welcome to stay and show there support. there are also activities arranged in the lower hall for those not busy racing.
- Refreshments will be available, at a small charge.

Science Centre Trip - Cancelled
Sadly we have had to cancel the Science Centre Trip planned for Sunday 4th March. We have not be able to firm up the details, and so will not be able to run it this weekend. We are looking at other options for later in March to make up for it!

Torchlight Parade - 21 February
Each year, Okotoks' Scouts and Guides Associations get together to celebrate the birthdays of their founders. We call the event the "Torchlight Parade", and it includes a walk (parade) from the Lions' Campground area to the Elks Hall, followed by a sing song. This year's celebration is on Tuesday 21st February.
Arrangements:
Clothing appropriate for weather.
A non-disposable cup or mug.
A flashlight (please - no flashlights with built in laser!)
Something to make noise with (optional)
Wear your campfire blanket if you have one.
Arrangements:
6:15pm Parents drop off at Sheep River Park (Go to Lion's Campground and follow the noise!) Note: If temperature is minus 15 Celsius or lower, meet at Elks Hall at 6:45pm instead.What to wear/bring:
6:30pm Depart for Elks Hall
6:55pm Arrive Elks Hall
7:55pm Parents arrive at Elks Hall for pickup.
